a rookie's guide to research: sample paper
A Rookie's Guide to Research contains two sample research papers. One presents a basic research paper focusing on a disease. This topic breaks down easily into sections allowing the novice researcher to understand the organization and construction of a research paper. The advanced paper illustrates a position chosen by the writer, in this case, the guilt or innocence of Bruno Hauptmann—the accused kidnapper of the Lindbergh baby. Both papers are annotated with examples of title pages, abstract pages, text and reference pages. The annotations offer help with placement of data, in-text citations, formatting headings, etc. The excerpt which follows shows a sample page from the basic paper.
