a rookie's guide to research: sample paper
A Rookie's Guide to Research contains two sample research papers. One presents a basic research paper focusing on a disease. This topic breaks down easily into sections allowing the student to understand the organization and construction of a research paper. The advanced paper illustrates a position chosen by the reader, in this case, the guilt or innocence of Bruno Hauptmann—the accused kidnapper of the Lindbergh baby. Both papers are annotated with examples of title pages, abstract pages, text and reference pages. The annotations offer help with placement of data, in-text citations, formatting headings, etc. The excerpt below shows a sample annotation used with one of the papers.
